Oh So Randomly Random

If you’re over the age of 40 and you have the opportunity to buy your teenager the same model of cell phone as you, do it. Within a week, he or she will know more about its quirks and abilities than you’ll ever want to look up on your own. Just don’t get them one that’s the same colour as yours… you’ll not want to know what they’re talking to their friends about by text any more than you’ll want them seeing the pictures you take, if you know what I mean. 😉

Since my fiction blog is coming up to a year old, I’ve decided to completely revamp it – new theme, new colours, new name even. When I do, I’ll take it offline, so if you can’t find it this weekend, you’ll know why. And if you can’t find it ever, it’s because I’ve changed the name. (Makes note to self to schedule a grand re-opening.)

We had spring for about 10 minutes this morning! It’s snowing now.

Do you ever get a comment on an old post and have to go back to read it to see what you said? Does that mean your memory is bad, or that you post too much? Just wondering.

OH oh oh! I found the CD I lost! It was in a pile of papers in my kitchen. I found it when I was looking for something else. 😀 To celebrate, everyone who told me I’d find it, gets one of the oatmeal cookies I found in the same pile.

So I have the weekend off. The kids are going with their dad tomorrow night and coming back Sunday after dinner. I have a freebie at the cinema… and I have Netflix. Any suggestions as to what movie I should watch? Anyone want to come with? Popcorn’s on me. 😀

The good news is, if you change your URL through WP (not self-host, but just buy a domain), you won’t lose any followers. So don’t worry about that. 🙂

The bit about the phone made me giggle. My boss is buying two new computers for work, and he decided to buy the same model, so I can teach him how to use it, haha.

That’s good to know! I wondered about losing my followers… this site is paid for, but I still have the “.wordpress” in the URL, partially because I was afraid to change it.

I actually did the same thing when my mother was shopping for remote phones for her landline. I was always having to try to figure out what might be the problem she was having with her phones, over the phone. Having the same one meant I didn’t have to be there to fix or adjust them myself. 😛

      Thanks for the comment 😀

Yeah, I have a paid site through .com too. 🙂 You can access my site through two URLs now (alex-hurst.com & memoirsofhereafter.wordpress.com), and either will work for feed burners, etc. So you won’t lose anyone. ^_^

        PS- No problem!

Have fun – enjoy and by the way did you happen to see my keys in the same pile as your CD and cookies? Not likely I know but I felt I should ask – one never knows – I am quite sure keys move through different dimensions at will just to annoy us.

I’m happy to read, that you found your CD. Enjoy it in the weekend when no one will disturb you 😀
I think, you make a great titel, if you choose something close to this blog name, as you use here. Then people will find it more easy to remember the author.
Enjoy your free weekend. Would like to join you, but ‘I’m not able because of the distance. Enjoy my cookie too 😀

Thanks for the cookie, Irene! 😀
I will enjoy my CD when I’m alone…and yes, I’ll probably go with something similar for my new blog title. Thanks for the suggestions 🙂

That’s just how I felt when my best friend knew more about how my old, out of date phone worked than I did. Insulting!

It’s not that you have a bad memory, per se. It’s believed that when you write something down or make a file of something, your brain makes it less of a priority to remember since it’s documented elsewhere. So your brain remembers you wrote it, but not the contents of the post itself.

Glad you found the cd. That’s one of the bugs of WP since the last update, they don’t include the previous comment. Easy to forget.

At least tell us the new name Linda! It took me long enough to find your blog in the first place 🙂

And I’m ever-so-happy you did! I’m not sure what I’ll call it – probably something like Linda G Hill Fiction, which is actually what the website is named already. “Get On My Plate!” is a bit obscure. 😛

Hmmm note to self – clean glasses, focus eyes and engage brain cell before asking dumb questions or making just as dumb requests!

It’s a guy thing Linda – the best place to hide something is to put it right in front of us 😀

          Haha!
Don’t feel so bad. Had I not been quite as oblivious, I wouldn’t have named my fiction blog something that sounds like it should be covered in pictures of food in the first place. 😉
