Inspire

I love to inspire people. There are many ways to do so, however. I’m told that my prompts inspire writing, which is great – it would be wonderful to inspire a painting, but I don’t know that I have the face for it. I’m afraid any painting I’m in would have to include a broomstick. Haha.

But I also get a lot of satisfaction out of inspiring people to live better lives, be happier, be grateful for what they have… the list is endless.

I want to ask you this: if you could inspire people to do one or two things just by doing them yourself, what would they be? Please answer in the comments or, if you’re inspired to blog about it either link back here or comment with a link to your post so everyone can read.

I’d like to (and try to) help others define what’s really important to them. To spend more time on what really matters, both generally and in our own lives, versus trying to keep up with the “accepted” external measures of a “good” life and success: certain belongings, salary levels, etc. What matters is if you have what you need (not necessarily want) and feel a sense of peace, which to me differs from happiness because people expect happiness to be a feeling of exuberance. In reality, a sense of calm satisfaction at the core that can last long-term is what many people, including myself, find most satisfying…

I would love to inspire others to become more aware and tolerant of those with mental issues. And to love. Because love could cure the world of so many things….
So if you needed a broomstick to inspire a painting, that would make you Cinderella right?

This sounds awfully trite! I would love to inspire people to be kind to each other, and to always payforward or back any favours that they receive . Just think if we could all be kind to each other how wonderful that could be!

My primary goal is to inspire and motivate people to change their lives for the better. I was a teenage mom with no family and no job. I have crawled my way out of my pit of despair to give my kids all that they deserve. I want others to know its possible to rise above and NOT become just a “product of their environment”

To love others now, because life is so incredibly short. Many times people talk about showing love, more than they do actually doing it. Love is not about planning to love. Love is about doing. Less talk, more action…before the time runs out to do so.

What I would do by example? Go back to school. I should be doing that.

I want to inspire people to think critically and develop a desire to learn. I feel like I’ve hopefully had a bit of influence on some people in my life and work experiences to do that.

    Create.

I believe that art is far too important to be left to professionals. I think it is a basic human need. Write, paint, sing, sculpt… it doesn’t matter. Make something.

It’s horrifying to me how people are trained out of believing that they can create beauty. As children we all know that we can–it’s as natural as breathing. Somewhere along the line to adulthood most people get that knowledge beaten out of them, and a part of their souls–one of the most important things that makes us human–dies.

Don’t do it because you get paid. Don’t do it because anyone else likes it. Don’t do it because you’re good at it. Do it because if you don’t you’re a walking corpse.

I so agree with this. I’ve been in that place where I didn’t create anything – when I didn’t write – and that is exactly what I was: a living corpse with nothing to look forward to and no life apart from the mundane actions that caused me to continue to exist.

Thank you for this, Misha. An important thing to inspire. 🙂

Just live. People get so caught up in trying to get through life that they forget to just live it sometimes. I want to live my life in a way that makes other people want to live theirs too.

I want people to see that being in a wheelchair is simple another accoutrement. MS is a life sentence not a death sentence.

I like to inspire people, too. But if I can’t inspire someone, the next best thing is to really piss them off.
