#JusJoJan 2018, the 19th – Darkness

I totally dropped the ball on this prompt, and for that I must apologize to Kerry, our very gracious provider of the word of the day for the 19th. You can visit her awesome JusJoJan post here: Definitely worth the visit.

My only defense for being so late is I tried. Yet as hard as I tried, I spent most of the day paralyzed with fear that I would get another migraine. I had a headache all morning and well into the afternoon until finally I broke down and took an Advil. The pharmacist told me not to while I’m on a daily dose of ASA, unless I really needed it.

It’s only been since I took the Ibuprofen that I’ve begun to relax, to go back to normal. To calm myself enough to sit in front of the screen and type. Even now though, I’m sitting in darkness with my eyes closed, touch typing and feeling my way through this post.

I hope tomorrow all the anxiety will begin to fade.

I’ve taken all my tests now–ECG, CT scan, ultrasound on my neck, and a fasting blood test–and I have an appointment with the stroke specialist on Tuesday morning. Hopefully I’ll get my driving privileges back and I’ll be able to do my own grocery shopping. In the meantime, I’m making every moment count.

This post is brought to you by Just Jot it January and the prompt of the day; you can find it here: Please visit and check out all the other posts, which you’ll find in the comments!

  1. Just adding my two cents of get-well wishes. Hope the tests help find cures. Meanwhile, do what you can to stay pain-free.

  3. I’m a little bit confused with the justjojan and the Socs…are they the same? Is one “oc” and one “darkness” ? I am a bit behind on blogs and I am not sure what the Justjojan is and how to do it or if they are combined.

    • I combine them on Saturdays to prevent having two prompts, so the “oc” prompt (January 20th) is both SoCS and JusJoJan. “Darkness” was yesterday’s (Jan 19th) prompt.
      Sorry for the confusion!

      • But usually friday’s prompt is for saturday so darkness was to be written today right? Sorry if this is annoying. My brain doesn’t always compute after the seizures. I promise this is my last question

        • No problem, Bethany. I actually posted two prompts yesterday. The first one went up at 2am (Darkness) and that was for Friday’s JusJoJan. Then at 9:30am I posted the prompt for SoCS, which was the “oc” prompt for today.
It IS very confusing, but I can’t find another way to do it. Hope this clears things up. πŸ™‚

  4. Man, that sucks. Keep it up with the ibuprofen and get well soon!

  5. I hope that you get to the bottom of this and that you’ll be back to feeling like your bright and chipper self again soon.

  6. I hope that your test results all come back clear, Linda. Wishing you a restful and migraine free weekend. πŸ’–

  7. I hope that you feel better real soon.

  8. As I migraine sufferer I know how debilitating they can be. My worst was thankfully many years ago, but Hubby had to call out the doc as I could not see and had to be put to bed. I was given a through check over for meningitis, then a jab in the bot which cured my sore throat but sent me sideways for three days, as he’d warned. Thinking of you.

  9. Dear Linda think of you and wishing you well.Goid luck for Tuesday, please try and take it easy. I know you have a lot on your plate but please try.πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

  10. Hoping you get some closure soon Linda 😊

  11. No need to apologize Linda. I’m just glad you are okay, but I know headaches and the fear that they will worsen. Please take care of yourself. You’ve been more than gracious toward me. Thanks.
