The Reminder
I’ve discovered a talented young writer! I met Ainsworth through my fiction blog, and he’s just amazing. Won’t you please go visit him, read his work, give him some encouragement and a follow, too? Thank you!

DISCLAIMER:Â Now, once again this is a work of âFictionâ. Now before you start reading I would like to give a Shout Out to Linda G. Hill! Thanks for providing me with a new perspective on how to make sense of these prompts! It is very much appreciated! đ
Once again, this post was inspired to me by âThe Daily Postâ October 17th Prompt â Urgent. Enjoy!
2:04AM: âFINALLY! I KNOW WHAT TO WRITE!â
âURGENT!â The word echoed through my mind. You know, the worst part wasnât the word itself. Oh no, I had become accustomed to living my life with a degree of urgency. But, the reminder that every morning there is another outstanding bill, that is long overdue never failed to but a damper on my mood.
I always knew that being an adult wasnât going to be easy, thatâs what they all told meâŠ

No Sympathy Required.
Serious illness is something we all fear. And I think we all hope that should we face it, we’ll be able to do so with grace and a positive outlook.
I hope you’ll read this new blog, and follow along as Incy66 does her best to do just that. With positivity and humour.

Hello dear world
This post is written by a mere mortal.
A self realization has dawned; that there are things that scare me and the reality that we all die.
I am not the sort who plays the victim or who likes to play on othersâ emotions, so this post is not meant to envoke any sympathy from any of you out there.
I was reading FB earlier today and noticed a post by a friend who was in hospital having what I think is her breast removed. Yes, she has cancer.
And yes, so do I.
At first, I thought about contacting her and asking questions and telling her that it will all be ok. But to be honest it all feels a bit awkward.
One doesnât want to pry.
So what does one do in a situation like this?
I suddenly realized that she is probably not tooâŠ

We’ve lost Paul Curran, our master guest columnist and prolific comment-leaver
Well, I’ve spent the majority of my time online today looking for confirmation, but I’ve come up with nothing either way. Why have I gone to such lengths? Because I don’t want to believe it.
I’m happy to have had the chance to shake Paul’s hand. A more warm and welcoming man I have never met.
Rest in peace, my friend. It was good to know you.
Those of us whoâve grown to love the lively words that bounced from the head and fingers of Paul Curran will never be the same.
The writer from Canada has died, according to his neighbor Steve Watson.
I received this email on the contact tab from my blog:
With great sadness I have to tell you that Paul Curran has passed away. Paul passed last week.
Our guest blogger, Paul Curran.
Now Your Barrista â Paul
Curran
A series of the column head shots Paul sent me since 2013 to just a month ago.
I found the email this morning. I arrived yesterday. Steve Watson was listed as the photographer in the If We Were Having Coffee Sunday column Paul had me post here on Sept. 11 after his emergency operation.
I could not find an obituary through search engines.
Paul lived in Ottawa, OntarioâŠ

100 Books To Read Before You Die Challenge
Stephanie has posted a list of 100 books – how many have you read? I only have 31 1/2 under my belt – I didn’t finish the Narnia series. So many here I want to read and reread!
Note: Comments here are disabled. Please go to the original post to comment and let us know your number!
So Iâve been tinkering with Pinterest lately â thatâs what happens when youâre on sick leave and canât concentrate long enough to do anything really productive â and I found a few lists of 100 books one should read before they die.
I picked this one list just because it doesnât separate series into multiple books (as in Harry Potter series has one spot instead of HP 1, HP 2âŠ); I merely switched CS Lewisâs The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe (included in The Chronicles of Narnia) for The Hunger Games since the latter was on every other list I found and Shakespeareâs Hamlet (obviously included in Complete works) for The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho for the same reason.
Since this list is apparently dating back to 2003 itâs certainly missing some good books from the past decade but well⊠I need to stop at one point.

Uh Oh
WordPress is at it again. The new glitch is comments going to spam. Read this, then check your spam!
For the sake of keeping all the comments in one place, I’m turning them off here. Please go to Joey’s original post to comment.
Comments are disappearing for some of us in some places. Check your spam for some comments you may have missed.
John brought this up and I told him Iâd check my spam, where I did in fact, have comments from John, and my comment to him about it disappeared. Twice.
Anyway, check yer spam đ
Of Rainbows, Unicorns and Happily Ever After
I really needed this today – been feeling a bit sorry for myself lately. I thought I’d share it with you all, in case you’re in need of it too.

Donât you just wish that my title summed up life?
I know I do and more often than I care to admit.
Yet if there is one thing that I have learned over the past months and weeks is that any âhappily ever afterâ is entirely up to me!
Thatâs right.
Me!!!!!
Kinda puts a lot of responsibility on a gal you know?
Having the sole responsibility for my own happiness is a big deal.

Goodreads Review: All Good Stories
Thank you so much, Kaine! Very happy you enjoyed it. đ
All Good Stories by Linda G. Hill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Well, that was different?
I came into this book not quite knowing what to expect. I knew it would involve ?mushy stuff,? and that it was liable to be more lighthearted than my usual fare, but beyond that I didn?t have much to go on.
Let me say that I am glad I took the trip. Sometimes whim and chance lead us to things that we would not otherwise have come across, and in those moments we should be thankful.
The technical portion of the program is well done, and while in the first few chapters you might be prone to thinking it childish or a little over-the-top, it becomes clearer towards the end and you start to see how it all fits together. The final whammy â and the opportunity to read the central story thatâŠ

August 2016 is Write An Amazon Review Month! By @TerryTyler4 #AugustReviews
Help an author: write a review on Amazon! Check out this post and join in! It’s a worthwhile cause for the authors we love. đ
Note: Comments here are disabled. Please view the original post to comment and do your bit by reblogging and spreading the word.
Hi all:
As some of you might know, apart of contributing to this blog and having my own blog, where I share reviews and other things, Iâm also part of another group of reviewers, Rosieâs Book Review Team and one of the other members of the group, Terry Tyler, has had a fabulous idea to encourage people to post reviews. Here is the post! (And donât forget to check both blogs, especially if you are interested in new books and enjoy reading reviews. And if youâre an author, you can also submit your book to Rosieâs site, here). And if youâre bloggers, donât forget to spread the word and the love.

On Monday 25th July, book blogger Rosie Amber wrote this post encouraging readers and writers alike to post a short review on Amazon for any book theyâve read and enjoyed ~ following this up, TerryâŠ
