One-Liner Wednesday – Spring is sprung

And the croci are blooming.

Photo: Purple and yellow crocuses (croci) coming up amongst last year’s dead foliage.

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

One-Liner Wednesday – Had to run

You may have noticed I didn’t write a post for my own SoCS prompt on Saturday. The good news is he’s probably getting out tomorrow. The bad news is Alex has been in hospital since Saturday with a sore tummy that I’m still not sure if they’ve diagnosed. Fingers crossed I’ll find out what was wrong with him.

One-Liner Wednesday – Hold me to it

I’m closing all my social media tabs until 4pm every day for the next week, and I’m recording my intention here so I have witnesses. I’ll let you know how I did (unless it kills me) on the 31st. Wish me luck!

107. Scenes from the Second Seat on the Right

Note: Strong language

Saturday, December 16th, 4:00pm
Karla (and Justin)

Karla sits at the window. Justin takes the seat beside her.

Justin: Hey, don’t I know you from somewhere?

Karla: (glances up briefly from her cell phone) Nope.

Justin: I’m sure I do. Do you live around here?

Karla: (without looking up) Nope.

Justin: It’s Karla, right?

Karla: (without looking up) Nope.

Justin: Then why do you call yourself “Karla” on Facebook?

Karla: (looks at him) How do you know that?

Justin points at her phone.

Karla: (turning her back to the window to hide her phone, holding it in front of her face) Stop being so nosy.

Justin: You don’t get it, do you?

Karla: Don’t get what?

Justin: Everyone knows everyone.

Karla: (nose to her phone, typing madly) I don’t know you.

Justin: But all your friends will. You just took my picture.

Karla: No I didn’t.

Justin: (snatching her phone) Yes you did.

Karla: Fuck off, give it back.

Justin: Take my picture off it.

Karla: (snatches phone back) Fine!

Justin: (sits quietly for a moment, then turns to her) Friend me on Facebook?

Karla: (without looking up from her phone) Sure, what’s your name?

Next stop: Sunday, December 17th, 4:00am
