You know you’re tired when you’re searching the floor on the right side of the couch for the water bottle that’s in your left hand.
If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.
NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.
Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”
The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:
1. Make it one sentence.
2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.
3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.
4. Add our lovely badge to your post for extra exposure!
I kinda shoulda scheduled this yesterday to show up on my blog at 2am today … 🙄 I’m using COVID as my excuse. Yeah …

Spent the night in the emergency room with Alex Monday night into Tuesday and as of the writing of this Tuesday afternoon, I’ve been awake 30 hours … and that’s your one-liner this week.
P.S. He’ll be okay in a few days (fingers crossed), but now I think I’m sick too. 🙄

This post is the last of my regular Just Jot it January 2024 efforts, and it’s an effort…
When I chose the word “calendar” for today’s prompt, there was no way I could have anticipated how I was going to use it.
Although, I think I’ve been here before now … at least once.
Where is here?
Here is sleep deprived. Here is a mother who stayed up all night last night with her son in the emergency room. You’ve heard this song before, right?
Anyhoo, he wasn’t admitted to hospital this time, and we were in and out of there in just ten short hours! That might be close to a record.
BUT! It did mean I missed something important. To me, at least.
I made an appointment to get my eyes checked in December—the appointment was for January 11th. A few days before that, the office called and told me the doctor wouldn’t be in, so she gave me another appointment. Guess for when?
So I called this morning from the emergency room to let them know I had to cancel the appointment this time.
I have another scheduled for February 15th. Three times lucky.
But oh, my poor wall calendar and all the covered up appointments!
This exhausted post is part of Just Jot it January! Want to join in? Just click here to get to the prompt and drop your link. It’s fun!
I’ll tell you about it sometime, but now I’m too tired. Sorry for the vagueness.

Apparently all the electricity in the world isn’t enough to power the brain inside my head enough to remember to schedule a post.

It’s been a while since I last had a brush with good health. You know, one of those rare moments when nothing hurts? Anyone over 50? I’m talking to you.
My latest what-I’m-calling-stress-related ailment is tinnitus. As I sit here, it’s shrieking in my ears. Driving me to absolute distraction. I had it yesterday too. Today, I noticed it only when I thought of it, which kinda tells me that it’s likely all in my head.
Yeah, yeah, I know. It’s in my ears so obviously it’s all in my head.
But getting this post written was stressing me out, so it’s back … I understand, though, that the antacid meds the doctor gave me for heartburn could have caused it in the first place. Crazy, eh? So if you’re taking a new medication and you suddenly start to get tinnitus? Check out the side effects of the medication.
And that’s my PSA for the day.
No walk for us today. It’s been hot again and will be for the foreseeable future, and I didn’t wake up until 10am this morning. I must have needed the sleep. Surprisingly, I’m exhausted now. And it’s only 1:24am.
I must need more exercise.
Yep, I’m afraid I’m done for the night. Hope you’re having a good one.
Today has been less of a day and more of an ordeal. Just getting through the heat.
I can’t brain.
Decisions all went out the window. Or would have if I’d opened them.
All the toss-ups in my life feel life and death.
Like what I was going to have for dinner. (I managed a microwaved TV dinner.)
Cookies or crackers?
Water or … water? (There’s nothing else to drink except tea and coffee. And I don’t do cold tea and coffee. Bleh.)
Half my problem all day has been lack of sleep. I turned out my light last night after 2am and tossed and turned for about an hour. Woke up at 5:55 and thought, I can go back to sleep or I can go out for a walk with Alex. Because we both need the exercise, we went for a walk. I put in 5K steps before 7am. On three hours of sleep.
My bedroom, where I work, was 90 F all day.
I still can’t brain.
Bleh.
P.S. Hope everyone south of the border had a happy 4th of July!
