#1linerWeds

Before I post this week’s One-Liner Wednesday I want to record the results of our poll. Since I can’t close a poll and just leave it there (there’s a section to set an expiration time for voting but it seems useless), it seems the poll will remain open on this post.

I’m capping it off here:

hashtag poll

As you can see the decision is definite. Our new hashtag is Mr. John Holton’s suggestion of #1linerWeds.

Make sure you use it in your one-liner post this week!

One-Liner Wednesday – The Superpower We Didn’t Know We Have

Heard on the radio:
“I always wanted to be able to read minds; then I got a Facebook account and found out it’s annoying.”

Anyone who would like to try it out, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a ping back, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a ping back from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use the tag #1lineWed for more exposure.

Have fun!

One-Liner Wednesday – Instantaneous Gratification in Action

Walking the track yesterday was going so well I didn’t want to stop, even though my foot hurt… just another half an hour, I said to myself: blister = no more track for the rest of the week.

One-Liner Wednesday – Sympathy for a Weevil

“I’m glad you’re not dead!” — What my best friend John said when I told him a transport truck had run me off the road and onto the (wide, thank God) paved shoulder beside the fast lane on the highway doing 120km/h (75mph) on Sunday, and almost squashed me like a bug.

One-Liner Wednesday – You’re gonna get mugged

At least you know what to expect when you walk in the door of the shop… Funny enough, there’s a police station practically next door.

P.S. Don’t forget the #1lineWed tag on your post!

Just a quickie

I was on Twitter a moment ago and saw that #1lineWed is trending. I didn’t know this was a thing! I wonder if it predates my One-Liner Wednesday prompt… does anyone know? Have you heard of it before?

Anyway, to get more exposure on your One-Liners, make sure you tag your posts #1lineWed! I’ll add the suggestion to the rules section next week. This is so cool!

One-Liner Wednesday – Really Texas?

Sometimes you have to travel to discover cultural differences in faraway places; sometimes you can learn right in your own kitchen ~
