One-Liner Wednesday – May … I have your input? New Badge!

I finished colouring May about a week ago.

For those of you wondering where to get this particular calendar for 2018, click this link: https://www.hoppergifts.com/ If you don’t want to buy one online, you might find similar ones at Staples.  I found some there and in my local book store (Chapters) last Christmas.

Don’t forget, this is our last week with this, our first ever One-Liner Wednesday badge!

If you’d like to enter the contest to design the new one, click the following link to see how. We already have one entry! Be sure to check it out while you’re there: https://lindaghill.com/2017/05/15/one-liner-wednesday-new-call-for-submissions/

If you would like to participate in this prompt, feel free to use the “One-Liner Wednesday” title in your post, and if you do, you can ping back here to help your blog get more exposure. To execute a pingback, just copy the URL in the address bar on this post, and paste it somewhere in the body of your post. Your link will show up in the comments below. Please ensure that the One-Liner Wednesday you’re pinging back to is this week’s! Otherwise, no one will likely see it but me.

NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, like Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.

As with Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS), if you see a pingback from someone else in my comment section, click and have a read. It’s bound to be short and sweet.

Unlike SoCS, this is not a prompt so there’s no need to stick to the same “theme.”

The rules that I’ve made for myself (but don’t always follow) for “One-Liner Wednesday” are:

1. Make it one sentence.

2. Try to make it either funny or inspirational.

3. Use our unique tag #1linerWeds.

4. Add our very cool badge to your post for extra exposure!

5. Have fun!

One-Liner Wednesday – New call for submissions!

It’s time for a new badge!

My decision to retire our old One-Liner Wednesday badge hasn’t been an easy one. We’ve been using it for fourteen months now. Back in March I went looking for Wes, the creator of this wonderful badge:

#1linerWeds badge by nearlywes.com

And guess what? His site expired. I did, however, find him here: https://hollifield1122.wordpress.com/2016/12/01/i-have-a-problem/ He hasn’t posted yet this year, but I have hopes that if enough of us visit him, maybe we can nudge him out of hiding.

So we’ll have one more Wednesday with Wes’s badge, then next week we’ll vote on the best of the new ones.

The guidelines for entry into the contest are as follows:

1. The design can be anything you want it to be, but it must include either “One-Liner Wednesday” and your name and/or the name of your website.

2. Any pictures (art or photo) must be your own.

3. All entries will be posted here on my blog on Monday, May 22nd, 2017, along with a poll that will close the next day, on Tuesday the 23rd. I would ask that each of the entrants make a blog post on their own website with their artwork so that I can post links for voters to check them out, and that they link their post back HERE in the comment section no later than Sunday, May 21st. All links included here will be added to the voting list.

4. The winner’s badge will be available for anyone who participates in One-Liner Wednesday to post permanently on their website as a widget and/or to embed in each weekly One-Liner Wednesday post.

5. One entry per person. The contest is open to anyone with an active blog, WordPress or otherwise (see #3 for entry requirements).

6, Poll results will not be available while the poll is open. If there is a tie, I will choose the winner myself.

7. If I’ve missed anything, or if you have any questions please ask in the comment section below.

8. Have fun!

So that’s it. Get out your paintbrushes and coloured pencils, your cameras, or whatever you generally art with and art away!

One-Liner Wednesday – Foreigner

My son wrote on my fridge, “I wanna know what love iiisss…” but I, being the mom I am, couldn’t stand to leave it alone. An ode to my barren back yard:

I wanna know what grass is I want you to mow me

Here’s the song.

One-Liner Wednesday – Danger!

I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. Crocs in Ontario waters!

Croc sunning itself by the water

One-Liner Wednesday – Elvis has left the … ladies’ restroom?

Possibly the funniest thing about this picture is the looks I got when I came out of the bathroom stall: I couldn’t turn the shutter sound off on my phone camera.

Care to attempt a caption… or five?

PLEASE click the picture to read the note on the sign.
