One-Liner Wednesday & #JusJoJan the 11th, 2023 – A squirrel!

I just wrote in my planner “Got distracted by Facebook/went to the pantry for nuts,” and now I’m convinced I’m actually a squirrel.

Here are the simple JusJoJan Rules:

1. Just Jot It January starts January 1st, but it’s never too late to join in! You’ll get a prompt for every day except Wednesday, when the prompt is simply my One-Liner Wednesday and on Saturday, when your prompt will be the Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS, which will appear at about 9:30am Friday. Each prompt post will include the rules.

Skinnier than …

Funny story.

I was talking to my son Chris this morning about a dream he had of elephants.

As we were chatting, Winston, our dog, came into the kitchen to say hello to me.

I bent to pat him and asked him if he was an elephant.

“You’ve got four legs, and a tail, and floppy ears, and a long nose,” I told him. “But you can’t be an elephant. You’ve got a furry body.”

To which Chris replied, “Elephants are skinnier.”

“Skinnier than Winston? I’ve never seen an elephant skinnier than Winston,” I said.

“No, Mom, not skinnier. SKINnier. They have more skin!”

So I’m hereby declaring myself skinnier than an Irish Setter.

And no one is going to convince me otherwise!

#SoCS – If I knew the new thing

Oh hey! Look! It’s me writing a SoCS post!

Who could have guessed that would ever happen again?

Really, I’m just here to complain like an old lady.

About all the newfangled thingymajigs these days—why are there so many?

But no, really. Why can’t things stay the same? Sure, you say, you’ll get used to the way things are now.

But I knew the old way. I was familiar with it. And it wasn’t broke, so why fix it?

Like the new WordPress blocks. I don’t know about you, but I always choose the classic blocks.

I don’t like my paragraphs split up every time I want a new one, thank you very much!

*sigh* It takes so long to learn these new unnecessary things. I have plenty to learn of my own choosing, though! I don’t have time for your crap!

Why do snacks = crazy?

Next time I see something off-the-wall, I’m going to say, “That’s snacks!” and wait for everyone to look at me like I’m … well … yummy.

What Day Is It Anyway – Thursday, February 3rd, 2022

Conversations I’ve had with the animals in this house in the last 24 hours.

To the cat: “I’m done with your tomfoolery!”

To male, neutered dog after I had an argument with Alex: “Don’t ever have kids.”

I may have upset him with that suggestion.

Do you talk to your pets?

Do you know what day it is?
